Engineered timber window supplier TimberWindows.com has continued its expansion with the announcement of a second overseas manufacturing partner and its 100th registered installer.

Dorset-based Van Dukes Conservatories Ltd has joined the company’s installer network after seeing the benefits of engineered windows and the virtual business model established by the web-based window supplier.

TimberWindows.com’s new overseas manufacturing partner is based in the Baltics, where a dedicated new line for TimberWindows.com’s flush casements and doors has been developed.

The move, coupled with a £1m investment in new technology at the company’s existing manufacturing partner in Poland, will quadruple its capacity.

Investment in Poland has provided machinery to profile, prep and sand windows in an automated “human-free” line. A new production hall is dedicated to glazing, final assembly and expansion of the TimberWindows.com quality control area.

Chris Brunsdon, the company’s managing director, believes the windows market is turning to engineered timber at an “unprecedented rate”. He said the company’s sales were up 46% on last year to date, with enquiries rising by 23%.

“It’s therefore been crucial to review our manufacturing facilities and ensure we continue to deliver,” he said.

“Had we brought our new capacity on earlier, our sales this year would have been much more than this.”

Mr Brunsdon said the expansion would enable the company to meet current orders within a competitive lead time.
