Scott Timber Group member European Logistics Management (ELM) is encouraging the re-use of wooden pallets by launching a pallet recovery service for customers of insulation manufacturer Isover.

ELM will collect pallets from merchants, distributors and contractors at no cost and return them to Isover for re-use.

Isover is aiming to collect 40% of its pallets in the first year of the scheme.

All pallets used in the delivery of Isover insulation will be marked with the Isover name to aid identification in the market.

ELM managing director Michael Noble said the scheme was in line with the industry’s objective of reducing packaging waste and promoting the re-use of transit packaging.
