The system, being erected at The Gallery, differs from conventional timber frame by eliminating the use of sheathing boards on the outside of wall panels by using nail plates and diagonal bracing to provide racking resistance.
Senior quantity surveyor and procurement manager Phil Simons said he specified the ElecoFrame over normal timber frame due to the system’s advanced engineering software, flexible production and a close working relationship with Eleco.
“While timber frame meant we could ensure as little disruption as possible to build times and project management, combined with the compliance angle which timber so nicely fulfils, Eleco Building Components’ innovative system presented the solution to the volume of build we required,” said Mr Simons.
The Gallery is being built by Hemlock Construction for Pinetree Developments.
