Egger UK Ltd says its Weyroc Protect flooring can help builders achieve the BRE‘s EcoHomes requirements.
The Hexham-based company claims that certification and testing of the product has shown it exceeds the EcoHomes requirements for thermal conductivity, sustainability, chemical content and sound insulation.
Egger says Weyroc Protect’s thermal conductivity has been measured at 0.14W/m2K, compared to the 0.25W/m2K required by Building Regulations.
On the sustainability front, Egger says its UK production is independently certified by BM TRADA as Forest Stewardship Council-certified and the company’s harvesting operation Egger Forestry meets ISO 14001 requirements.
Egger says Weyroc Protect also helps earn EcoHomes credits by including a proportion of recycled material, as well as being an easy product to recycle at the end of its useful life.
The company claims the flooring also meets EcoHomes section Mat 4 “Environmental Impact of Materials” by production in accordance with EN312:P5, while its manufacture is CFC-free and boards have E1 class formaldehyde content.
Weyroc Protect has also been independently tested by an I-joist manufacturer as meeting Approved Document E (resistance to the passage of sound) of the Building Regulations.
