Gang-Nail Ecojoists are being used by the Fencehouse Truss Company to build the roof of a new Marie Curie hospice in Solihull.
The 24-suite facility in Marsh Lane is scheduled for completion early in 2013, and the tight build time was one reason Ecojoists were specified.
“It’s important to ensure the build programme stays on schedule,” said Fenchouse director Steve Harris. “We’re able to manufacture and supply Ecojoists quickly, allowing installation to take place on time.”
Another factor in the selection of Ecojoists was the array of services that needed to be installed in the state-of-the-art hospice. Comprising parallel stress graded timber flanges connected with an open web of galvanised steel ‘V’ shaped connector plates, the joists are purpose designed to discretely accommodate cabling and pipework without the need for cutting or drilling.
