Gang-Nail Systems’ EcoJoist has been given Robust Standard Detail (RSD) status in line with Part E of the Building Regulations and the House Builders Federation’s programme for the acoustic performance of new homes.
Gang-Nail said the approval meant housebuilders and timber frame manufacturers could be confident of exceeding the requirements of Part E by using the timber and steel open web system.
Achieving RSD status required onsite testing that showed the product exceeded Part E requirements by 5dB in both airborne and impact scenarios.
