Owned by Associated British Ports (ABP), the ports have had to meet strict management control, legislative compliance and commitment criteria to receive the certification, as well as meeting customer expectations.
PERS certification is set against a European-wide standard that has been especially designed for ports, with only 14 other ports around the continent deemed to be meeting the criteria needed to be deemed environmentally sound.
