Boxer Amir Khan has officially reopened EBM Buildbase in Bolton after a £750,000 refurbishment.
The 3.3-acre site now features specific warehouses for timber and other building materials, new offices and a trade counter, improved yard racking and extended bathroom and kitchen showrooms.
Mr Khan, Commonwealth lightweight champion, attended the event after EBM Buildbase supplied a number of materials for the construction of his new boxing academy in nearby Halliwell.
“We were delighted that Amir was able to come and do the honours,” said EBM Buildbase manager Peter Dobson.
“We are pleased to support his new academy which is helping lots of youngsters in Bolton develop a new hobby and keep fit.”
Other investments at the site include new fork lift trucks, HGV crane vehicles and a traffic management systen to enhance movement around the site.
