Kronospan’s new range of low emission board types are the latest development in the company’s commitment to supply the market with environmentally sensitive products, it has said.
The Wrexham-based panel producer has begun manufacturing particleboard with a formaldehyde content in the finished product of less than 4mg and MDF with less than 5mg, which included modifying its manufacturing facilities to produce the E-LE (low emission) boards.
Kronospan said the E-LE boards follow on from developments such as the patented Umluft Trocknung-Wärmerückgewinnung mit Staubabscheidung heat recovery and cleaning system in place at its Jihlava, Czech Republic and Bischweier, Germany sites.
“Our aim is to maximise the yield from input materials to achieve cost-effective production with reduced environmental impact,” a spokesman said.
