The DTI has pledged £1.74m to help the furniture industry implement world class manufacturing techniques to improve competitiveness.
DTI minsiter for small business and enterprise Nigel Griffiths will launch the FIRA International Ltd programme at the DTI conference centre, London, on January 14.
FIRA managing director Hayden Davies described the intitiative as one of the most important developments for many years and said it was an opportunity for companies to benefit from leading manufacturing, supply chain and processing expertise.
The programme is the outcome of FIRA’s competitiveness study conducted last year.
