Dozens of octagonal and other non-standard shaped hardwood windows have been supplied for a new mosque in Bradford.

Bradford Joinery designed and fabricated the windows and extensive curtain walling for the Madni Jamia Mosque in styles reflecting traditional Islamic architecture. Utile from well-managed sources in South America was used.

Alan Priest, of architects Priest Woodward, said aluminium was originally specified but fabricators were unable to produce the special double S-curves distinguishing the window heads.

Bradford Joinery, a member of the British Woodworking Federation, is also supplying 12 hand-carved doors to form the mosque’s main entrance.
