Solidor had been running an Accord 20FX alongside five Record/Actionline CNC machines, but quickly achieved its weekly production capacity of 1,000 doors.

"Production of our solid timber core doors is continually growing so we realised that we required even more capacity for 2014 just as the sixth CNC was being delivered and installed," said Solidor operations manager Pierre Mifsud.

The latest Accord 20FX is a new generation modular machining centre designed for heavy-duty stock removal and high-quality finish over the entire machining area.

The 3680x1380mm table can accommodate any size door and the centre is equipped with an 8.45kW 24,000prm routing head necessary for 48mm-thick core construction to trim and to machine face profiles and apertures.

It was delivered with a Stefani HD single-sided edge bander with PUR gluing.

Mr Mifsud said that since the first machine was delivered six year ago, all equipment has been running all day, every day.

"We are very pleased with our latest Accord and the SCM CNCs we have installed, and that is why we go back for more machines as the Solidor business continues to grow," he said.
