On August 27, two directors of James Donaldson & Sons Ltd, Alan Sinclair and Randolph Murray, will set off on a cycling challenge.
They plan to cycle the 1,000 miles from Lands End to John O’ Groats in three weeks to raise money for Spinal Research. With no support crew, they will carry heavy panniers on the bikes with all their supplies.
Mr Sinclair has supported Spinal Research since his daughter Yvonne became a tetraplegic after breaking her neck in an accident more than 20 years ago.
“ Spinal Research has funded research projects which have made great strides towards restoring function to those, like Yvonne, paralysed by spinal chord injuries,” said Mr Sinclair, adding that, with the support of sponsors “we can raise some serious funding to support further worthy research projects”.
