The attendance at the Hanover event was an 11% increase on the previous show in 2012, when 40,000 visitors were recorded. Exhibitor numbers were the same at 1,350 companies, from 57 countries.

Biggest visitor nations included the UK, Turkey, the US and Italy. The second edition of the Wood Flooring Summit was hailed a major success, serving as a networking hub for the international parquet and laminate flooring sector.

Making its debut was the innovations@Domotex showcase, designed to be a trendsetting event highlighting selected product innovations and designs on show.

“The mood in the exhibition halls made it clear that the mood in the industry had taken a considerable turn for the better, with exhibitors speaking of greatly improved business prospects and an anticipated upturn in sales,” said Dr Jochen Köckler of organiser Deutsche Messe.
