DLH Group is helping local timber businesses in Sabah towards achieving sustainable forest management and certification.
As well as putting money into the project, DLH will identify producers to be involved in the scheme which is being co-ordinated by Viskon Aps of Denmark and MJS Services of Sabah who have established a partnership in association with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) accredited certification body Woodmark.
The project, which is also supported by the Danish government,
will provide practical training to build up local skill capacity in certification and consequently enable FSC certification to be undertaken at local costs and with local expertise.
