An indoor show garden featuring the unusual use of Arbordeck deckboards took a top prize at this year’s BBC Gardener’s World Live show. Created by Leeds-based Tracy Foster Garden Design with fellow designer Caroline Pollard of Derby, the jungle-themed courtyard garden, inspired by the work of artist Henry Rousseau, was awarded a Gold medal and ‘Best Small Garden’ by the panel of judges from the Royal Horticultural Society.

The garden featured Arbordeck’s smooth deckboards, which were used to create a decorative retaining wall around the courtyard garden. Built by Timberscapes Leeds, the decked feature was then filled with plants and flowers to complete the design.

Tracy Foster said: “Using deckboards to create raised garden beds is something that people can use in their own gardens to give planting extra height for privacy and seclusion. The design was very popular with the public who saw how easily it could be used as part of a larger garden or adapted to fit a small back yard. The quality of the materials and the installation was vital and both myself and Caroline and I are extremely grateful to Arbordeck, Timberscapes and our other sponsors.”
