Danzer has secured FSC certification on almost 6,500 acres of hardwood forests in the US.

The certification relates to forestland in Indiana and was part of a group certification by the Indiana Classified Forest Program, administered by the state’s Department of Natural Resources. Scientific Certification Systems, approved the certification after an audit.

All products from the forests can now be given the FSC label.

Danzer’s 20 FSC-certified forest tracts in south-west Indiana consist of white oak, red oak, yellow poplar, hickory, walnut, maple, ash cherry and beech.

The company harvests about one million board feet (2,360m³) of timber from the forests annually, primarily for the production of veneer and lumber.
