Danube Building Materials is expanding its operations in Oman by opening a second outlet close to Muscat.

The second “showroom” is being constructed on a 5,000m2 plot in Mabella, 60km from the capital city, with completion expected in July. It will carry stocks, including timber and panels, worth seven million dirhams.

Danube, based in Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates, said the Mabella outlet would increase its turnover in Oman by 50%. It plans to target traders, carpenters and joineries.

The company describes Mabella as a fast-growing residential and industrial area. It also says the Sultanate’s recent decision allowing expatriates to own property and developments in the tourism sector is expected to fuel the growth in building materials demand.
