The Danish Forest Certification Scheme has been endorsed by the Pan European Forest Certification Council (PEFCC).
The scheme has completed an assessment process and joins 12 other national schemes from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
The five-month assessment process included an independent consultant’s report and a public consultation period.

Ben Gunneberg, PEFCC secretary-general, said: “This means that timber originating from woodlands certified to the Danish Forest Certification Scheme can have access to the PEFC logo, which provides assurance to purchasing customers and specifiers that they are contributing to the promotion of sustainable forest management.”
PEFC-endorsed schemes now account for more than 43 million ha.
