The Danish forest sector has set up two projects that it hopes will promote forestry’s role in helping manage climate change.

‘Wood is good for climate’ will be tasked with collecting as much information as possible about timber and climate change.

The project website, which will be updated until the Copenhagen climate meeting in December 2009, will provide detail on a range of initiatives including improving knowledge of wood-based solutions to climate change.

The second project – Replant the Planet – will invite school children across Denmark to plant trees, demonstrating the role that tree planting and sustainable forestry can have in solving the climate problem.
