Steven McGaulley has joined CV Stairs as its first dedicated operations manager, with a remit to help the company achieve world class manufacturing standards.

Until now, managing director Chris Stockwell had been responsible for production but Mr McGaulley will now cover all aspects of the job, including logistics, purchasing scheduling and product development.

He was previously an operations manager with East Kilbride-based Worldmark, working in several of their plants around the world, including his last post in Holland.

Mr Stockwell said the new appointment was a demonstration of the company’s commitment to grow the business, even in today’s tough economic climate.

He said that CV Stairs’ factory in Coabridge, Lanarkshire was Scotland’s only plant dedicated to making bespoke wooden staircases.
