Edinburgh Napier University’s Centre for Timber Engineering (CTE) will host the final COST Action E53 conference next week.

The event, from May 4-7, focuses on issues of quality control of wood and will cover understanding end user requirements; scanning; wood drying; assessment of strength, stiffness and visual appearance of timber and wood products; and future trends in technology, wood characteristics and end user requirements.

CTE says two days will be of particular interest to the timber industry – European Wood Drying Group workshop on May 4 and the “industry focused day” on May 5.
