Auspine Ltd’s attempt to overturn Ray-onier’s agreement to supply wood to Forest Enterprises Australia (FEA) is to be heard by Australia’s Federal Court in June 2008.

Federal Court judge Susan Kenny has set aside the whole of the month for the hearing, which centres on Rayonier’s decision to move its supplies from Aus-pine to FEA.

Earlier this year, Rayonier announced that it had agreed a 10-year supply deal with FEA, equating to 300,000 tonnes a year.

This led Tasmanian premier Paul Len-non to call for a meeting with Auspine to discuss how the change would affect its Scottsdale operations, which is de-scribed as a “major employer” by the forestry company.
