The refurbishment of a block of 1970s flats in London is the UK’s first building project to gain Forest Stewardship Council certification for using only sustainably sourced timber.

Porchfern Ltd, which is carrying out the work for Lambeth Council, is also believed to be the first UK construction company to achieve FSC chain of custody certification.

Timber used in the project includes Western red cedar cladding from International Timber, carcassing from BSW Timber, Douglas fir from East Brothers and Finnforest‘s OSB.
