ConFor has appointed Kath McNulty as Wales sector development co-ordinator.

Born in Geneva, Ms McNulty studied development at the University of East Anglia and campaigned for the NGO Reforest the Earth. Later, she completed a BSc in forestry at the University of Wales, Bangor, and went on to manage the planting programme for Forest Enterprise‘s Capital Modernisation Fund project in the Mersey / Red Rose Forest areas and then became community engagement adviser for Forestry Commission Wales.

Most recently, she has been the project manager for Reclaiming our Forgotten Inheritance, an FC Wales-led project restoring ancient woodland.

As well as working with members and representing the sector, Ms McNulty, who speaks Welsh, will focus on bringing woods into sustainable management and developing the supply chain for timber in Wales – two activities for which ConFor secured funding from the Wales Forest Business Partnership.
