Welcoming AW Jenkinson Forest Products and Egger Forestry, ConFor chief executive David Crichton said the forest sector was experiencing “an unprecedented period of growth and new investment”.
“Both businesses are examples of that and have a strategic part to play in growing the industry,” he said.
John Paterson, of Egger Forestry, said work was already well under way with its major new investment for panel production at Hexham. “Many of our customers in the processing sector are also committing to new capacity,” he said.
Richard Palmer, of AW Jenkinson, said: “ConFor has been building its influence with government and other public agencies and has become a key point of contact for consultation on policy.”
