UK imports in the same year included 8.2 million m3 of sawnwood, 3.5 million m3 of wood-based panels and 9 million tonnes of pulp and paper.
These were two of the main findings listed in the UK Wood Production and Trade statistics recently published by the Forestry Commission.
The main figures concerning UK production of wood products included: 2.8 million m3 of sawnwood produced (an increase of 2% on 2004); 3.5 million m3 of wood-based panels produced (no change year on year); 6 million tonnes of paper and paperboard produced (a 3% fall from 2004).
