The transaction, which is subject to Irish Competition Authority approval, includes the Clonmel mill and sales offices in the UK and the Netherlands.
The Clonmel plant has a capacity of 400,000m3 and employs around 145 people. Around 85% of the product is exported to the UK and Europe.
Coillte already owns 100% of the SmartPly OSB manufacturing operation in Ireland, and this latest acquisition will strengthen substantially its role as an industrial producer of wood products. SmartPly also has marketing offices in the UK and the Netherlands.
