A seminar on short rotation coppice and a workshop on wood biomass are to be held by COFORD in Ireland on September 15.

The workshop, which starts at the Hotel Minella, Clonmel, at 9.30am, will include a chipping demonstration and a visit to a wood biomass boiler operating in the Kilsheelin area.

It will be followed by the seminar at the same venue, starting at 5pm. Minister John Browne will open the event and launch two new products – a CD-ROM listing details of available wood biomass harvesting equipment and a new publication “A review of small-scale harvesting systems in use worldwide and their potential application in Irish forestry”.
