Tony Ford, project manager at Leaderflush Shapland, has raised £4,000 for Cancer Research UK by completing the coast to coast walk, travelling 192 miles from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire over 14 days.
Mr Ford walked in memory of his wife Margaret, who died last year.
Nick Hubbard, the company’s HR partner, is also taking part in a similar coast to coast challenge this month, cycling 225 miles over two days from Whitehaven in the Lakes to Bridlington on the east coast. He and his friends are raising money for Calum’s Cabin, a charity that offers a retreat on the Isle of Bute to help support families dealing with cancer.
