Full-scale fire tests on doorsets will be held at Chiltern International Fire‘s High Wycombe headquarters later this year.

The tests, which form part of a “Timber fire doors explained” seminar on November 9, are part of range of active and passive fire protection events aimed at specifiers, manufacturers, regulators, fire services and managers or owners of buildings.

Two similar doorsets will be tested to illustrate how minor flaws in design, manufacture and installation can have a significant impact on fire resistance.

“Reaction to fire explained” seminars, to be held on September 27 and November 17, are aimed at manufacturers of panel products, wall and ceiling systems and coatings, among others. The events will focus on the combustibility and ignitability of a material.

“Water mist suppression Explained” sessions at the Taylor Woodrow Technology Centre in Leighton Buzzard on September 29 and November 1 complete the training days. They will include demonstrations of residential fire suppression.
