FSC forest certification standards in Chile have been approved for native and plantation forests.
The approval has been hailed as a major achievement for FSC Chile and follows the outcome of years of effort.
The two standards were approved on May 21 and are supported by environmental, social and economic groups in the country.
All certification bodies’ clients in Chile will be assessed against the revised standard from September 2, 2010.
