Administrators of Chandos Timber Engineering have said initial interest in assets of the business has not resulted in any firm offers and auctions will now be held.
Administrator Jason Elliot, of Cowgill Holloway, had hoped to conclude a sale after two interested parties came forward, but when they melted away a decision was taken to appoint auction agent Robson Kay.
An extensive amount of machinery used by the Rochdale-based timber frame manufacturer will be sold in the January 31-February 2 online auction, as well as timber and sheet material stocks, vehicles, office furniture and insulation.
Machinery includes a 2010 AV Birch 12M uni-roll 450 open web beam press roller, an AV Birch 35-ton floor beam press Mk2, an AV Birch 3500M roof truss press, Robinson saw, Maggi saws and a large quantity of nail guns.
Vehicles include a Boss 556 sideloader, and three Jungheinrich diesel three-ton counter balance fork lifts.
Planed treated timber, Gyproc plasterboard, chipboard, vapour permeable membranes, plywood and Smartply OSB is also being sold.
The extensive freehold site on Karmo Industrial Estate, thought to be worth around £2m, is also to be sold.
Chandos, founded in 2000, went into administration last November suffering under a £4m debt burden. Its reliance on low margin public sector work, including business for Rok, sealed its downfall.
