His picnic table design was made in 90min out of a single sheet of 8x4ft OSB. Mr Halligan took part in the final with colleague Dean Davis, both of whom work for Pennyfarthing Homes, and Shaun Kennedy from Mactaggart & Mickel Homes.

The competition was organised by OSB promotional campaign JOSB Done, which is backed by the Wood Panel Industries Federation, Norbord, SmartPly and resin supplier Huntsman.

“Reducing waste remains a top priority in the construction industry and the fact that Harry used so much of the board, making the most of his materials was key in our decision to award him the title,” said judge Jim McCann, SmartPly Europe operations director.
