A buoyant UK market has prompted Québec-based Davidson Industries Ltd to open a new sales office in Hatfield, Doncaster.
It is headed up by UK sales director Chris Skelton, formerly a director of Hunter Timber Distribution, who said: ‘We want to push forward the development we have made here. Eighty per cent of our European business is in the UK and this year turnover will be in the region of £7m. We needed larger premises to allow the business to progress.’
The timber speciality agent/importer which has its European headquarters in Dublin, is looking to expand sales in eastern white pine direct from its mills in the Ottowa Valley and New Hampshire, US.
Mr Skelton said solid wood flooring sales were going extremely well at the moment and this was an area he wanted to promote.
‘We want to add new products from Europe and North America and develop our customer base,’ he said.
