The new line, which will increase planing capacity by 30%, will come on stream during the third quarter of 2015.

“The main reason for the new production line is to reduce delivery lead times to our customers,” said managing director Valts Kurpnieks.

The third planing line started up in July 2011 and increased capacity from 120,000m3 to 160,000m3.

The Valmiera site also includes timber treatment, a window and door factory and a prefabricated door factory.

The company’s garden furniture production is based at its Cesis factory. Byko-Lat is part of Norvik Timber Industries.
