The British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association (BWPDA) has become one of the first TrustMark Scheme operators to receive a licence confirming it complies with government-endorsed standards.

Construction minister Alun Michael MP presented the licence to BWPDA director Dr Christopher Coggins at an inaugural lunch for the scheme.

The licence will enable BWPDA members to become TrustMark registered.

Dr Coggins said he believes the scheme will be of huge benefit to both members and consumers when it is launched in January.

The BWPDA licence is applicable to the Property Care division of the association which represents companies who treat damp, wet/dry rot, wood-boring insect infestations, structural waterproofing and wall-tie failure. For information visit www.bwpda.co.uk.
