The British Woodworking Federation (BWF) has voted to leave the Construction Confederation.
In a statement, the BWF said the decision reflected changes to the work and interests of both organisations.
“The Construction Confederation has increasingly focused on the contracting side of the construction industry, whereas the priorities of BWF members centre on their role as product manufacturers,” the BWF said in a statement.
Membership will officially end on December 31, 2009.
“The BWF has changed dramatically over the past few years, and we are now able to stand on our own,” said BWF president Pauline Kelly.
“The fact that the vote in favour of resignation was unanimous confirmed the BWF Council’s view that this is the right move at the right time for the BWF.”
