More than 90 people attended the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) dinner at the National Army Museum, Chelsea.

Welcoming BWF members and their guests, BWF president Stephen Wright said the industry seemed to be approaching a golden era for timber and that it was a good time to be president.

Historian and motivational expert Michael Jones drew many parallels between military campaigning and the power of a group if they are made to feel empowered.

BWF director Richard Lambert said that the organisation concentrated on business issues and that the dinner was its only annual social activity. He added: “It is wonderful to see that outside of the centenary dinner, this year’s is our largest attendance ever.”
