The British Woodworking Federation’s recent move to the Building Centre, where the Timber Trade Federation already has its headquarters, will now be followed by the opening of an office by the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) in September.

The BMF’s new office is part of the organisation’s restructuring which will see it relocate its headquarters from Soho Square to the Midlands.

BMF chairman Terry Parker said the new office would be the organisation’s ongoing base in London, manned by policy officer Brett Amphlett.

"We are also making good progress in our search for our new Midlands HQ, with several offices identified as possible locations," he said.

Meanwhile, the BMF has a "very strong" shortlist in its search for the position of managing director.
