The mayor of Buenos Aires has committed to buying FSC-certified wood by 2010 in a bid to ensure sustainability, formalising labour standards and preventing child labour.
Mayor Mauricio Macri’s announcement was delivered to World Forestry Congress delegates at the conference’s opening ceremony.
