The events, to be held at BRE‘s Watford site, will take place on January 25, February 8, March 26, April 16 and April 26.

Seminars will give an overview of the code, which is based on BRE’s EcoHomes scheme, and cover its principal technical aspects and compliance. BRE’s role in the code will also be explained.

The code, which mentions using certified timber as one of the ways of improving a new home’s sustainability rating, will replace EcoHomes for new homes in England from April 1.

EcoHomes and EcoHomes XB will continue to be used to assess refurbished and existing homes in England and new homes in Scotland and Wales, where the code does not apply.
