More than two million properties in England and Wales are at risk from flooding and the implications for housing providers and the construction industry are immense.
In a bid to decide what further action can be taken to make the UK housing stock more flood resilient, the BRE has organised a one-day conference to be held on March 7.
BRE hopes the conference will prove a starting point for action, with a view to building partnerships to work on real developments.
Speakers will include experts from Defra, the Environment Agency and others responsible for delivering major regeneration.
BRE is also holding a conference on small-scale wind power technology on March 30.
