Boise Cascade Corporation has bought office products company OfficeMax for US$1.15bn, more than doubling the size of Boise Office Solutions, its office products distribution business.
The acquisition has led some industry analysts to question Boise’s continued presence in the timber industry, but company chairman George Harad has been quoted as saying that any decision on its role in timber would not be made before late next year.
