The initiative is designed to help counter staff give advice and choose the right materials for customers.

The guide was produced by product manager John Fletcher.

“In an industry with a myriad of regulations, staff need access to basic information that is both up to date and easily accessible,” said BMF managing director Jeremy Hawksley.

He also believes the guides will help his members maximise the potential of timber sales.

The BMF will be producing other selling guides on timber products such as structural plywood and structural OSB, in addition to P4 and P5 chipboard flooring.
