The roof batten selling guide, the first in a series of publications, was disributed to more than 130 BMF members at the launch of The Federation’s Product Support Strategy during a supplier liaison meeting in Nuneaton.

BMF chairman Kevin Cubbage said he hoped the guides would become the standard reference at the selling point for merchants, helping members and customers to choose the right materials for jobs. He also thought they could be a first step into more in-depth staff training.

Steve Turner, heavyside director of Jackson Building Centres in Lincoln, said: “Anything the BMF can do to help is a good thing. Roof battens have been a particular discussion topic within our organisation, so this selling guide will provide the definitive answers to our questions.”

Three new BMF product managers, who are compiling the guides, discussed content and topics for future guides at the Nuneaton event.

Selling guides will be published each month, with structural boards one of the products likely to feature in the future.
