Mr Newcomb has extensive experience in DIY and housewares and knowledge of the merchanting industry. He joins the BMF from housewares supplier Imperial International Ltd, where he was commercial director.
He has held senior marketing and management roles with builders merchants suppliers such as H&R Johnson, Sandvik Saws & Tools and Addis Group.
Mr Newcomb has also been involved with the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) for 15 years, the last two as president.
"I’m joining BMF at a challenging time, but there are many similarities to my time as president of BHETA. They also had to make structural changes, recruit new executive directors and relocate their operation," said Mr Newcomb.
"I’m hugely ambitious for this organisation and can’t wait to start," he added.
