Doncaster-based BLP UK Ltd recently took part in Technology Challenge, organised by Doncaster Business and Education.

BLP challenged seven schools in the area to “design and make a model of an innovative, mobile IT station to be used in the home, and appeal to children and adults”.

The contestants were also asked to give the piece of furniture a name and produce promotional material.

BLP’s Technology Challenge team visited the schools to offer help and support. Operations director Bridie Warner-Adsetts said: “Technology Challenge covers design, technology, engineering and manufacturing in a positive way and promotes these fields as exciting and rewarding career options. The challenge gave the pupils the opportunity to put what they have learned in the classroom into a real life project.”

The winning design came from Warmsworth primary school and their concept, Lightning 3000.
