Excel Building Solutions’ Bitvent sheathing board has received BBA accreditation for use as the structural sheathing on timber frame buildings.
The certificate covers the company’s existing 15mm thick board and a new 18mm version which when used in combination with Excel’s Warmcel 500 insulation enables the tougher, Part L thermal requirements for Scotland to be achieved using standard 95mm wall studs.
Bitvent is made from recycled softwood fibre produced from waste chips, sawdust and off-cuts from sawmills.
