BG Timber is moving from Hitchin to a site in Beeston, creating six new jobs.

The company received planning approval for the site – formerly a nursery – to be converted into a timber yard last September.

Managing director James Bartram has received job applications for new roles from Beeston residents.

The firm still needs planning permission to install timber cladding on the warehouse and install foodlighting to help with working in poor natural light.

BG, established in 1998, has a mill featuring nine moulding machines, as well as a finishing line to prime or lacquer products in water-based finish.

The company offers a wide range of hardwoods, softwoods, MDF mouldings and sheet materials, and specialises in cladding, including Thermowood, western red cedar and Siberian larch products.
